Westminster Point Pleasant and Westminster Manor are actively planning and preparing for the arrival of Tropical Storm Idalia. Manatee County has issued a mandatory evacuation order for certain low-lying areas.
We are evacuating our communities this morning, and some changes to our evacuation plans have occurred since our update last night. At Westminster Manor, Assisted Living residents are relocating to Westminster Towers in Orlando. At Westminster Point Pleasant, Memory Care residents are relocating to Poet’s Walk in Sarasota, and Assisted Living residents are relocating to Florida Presbyterian Homes in Lakeland. Nursing Care residents are relocating to Westminster Baldwin Park in Orlando, Legacy Pointe in Orlando, Florida Presbyterian Homes in Lakeland, and Westminster Palms and Westminster Suncoast in St. Petersburg.
We will remain at our evacuation sites until advised that it is safe to return home. We will continue to follow the recommendations of local emergency-management authorities and the National Hurricane Center and continue to update with any new developments.
